All one needs to do is push the center of the bar upwards and then pull the end of the bar out of the roof of the car, where it is held secure.
#Colloquy baby how to
It took us a few minutes to figure out how to remove these. These rods are the headliner rods and support the headliner. We took out the old rods running from one side to the other of the roof. Three nights ago, my father and I had the chance to finished removing remnants of the old head liner. It really does not alter the story at all but I was wanting you to know the background behind this few-day-late-update. Howdy, y'all! These past few weeks have been way crazy, so I am terribly sorry that I was unable to post this the other night when it occurred. So, after two and a half hours of grunting and frustration, we found out that we had indeed installed them correctly! So, we called it a night and came inside to rest our sore backs and hands. After sitting for a while, we tested them again and found that they actually were in correctly.
We had many troubles, 1) needle bearings falling out or over, 2) the tool was not very square and the bearing caps tended to get crooked, 3) we thought the u0joints were in too tightly. We used my dad's special tool to press them in. Once we had removed the old u-joints and cleaned the ends of the drive shaft and yoke (the yoke attaches to the transmission) we began installing the new u-joints. My dad explained that these are needle bearings which reduce friction as the u-joint moves.
One of the old bearing caps came off from the end of the u-joint and I saw that inside, lining the walls of the cap, there were many little rods covered in grease. We first removed the old u-joints from the drive shaft. Today, it took us about two and a half hours. This would probably be a easy task on any other day. The u-joints allow the drive shaft to move with the back suspension as it goes up and down. Tonight, we replaced the u-joints (universal joints) on the drive shaft of our Camaro. :)Īnother step has been taken to reassemble our beloved '67 Camaro! Well, I guess you can go far and wide just make sure you're close to a computer with a good Internet connection, that is. Don't go too far, I'll hopefully be posting again soon. We have a few more mats that we need to insert into the car. Then we use our special little roller to roll all the air bubbles out from underneath the Dyna-mat. We then stick it onto the floor of the car. We pull off the backing which reveals the sticky side. The last two days, my dad and I have been installing Dyna-mat. That was a task that is still in progress. I helped them with installing the headliner. While my brother in law was in town, he worked with my dad on various parts of the car. So, just recently I have had the chance to begin working on the Camaro with my dad again. ' Chello, all! (Forgive me, my greeting seems to have been transformed into a new form of hello, it's quite like hello but it has a "ch") Anyways, my life has been crowded with the end of school and other such things happening.
